Simple Basics!

The picture shown here is my temporary operating operating position.

My wife, Lois, and I come here each year during the winter from our home QTH in Pleasant Grove, Utah.  We stay with our son and his XYL, where they graciously allow us to use a spare bedroom.

We usually return to our home QTH in mid April or early May.  This year it will be on May 21, as we are extending our stay to attend our granddaughter's graduation from Willow Canyon High School.

While here this year I have been able to make contact with several new countries, the furthest away is Slovenia, where I had a short QSO on 20m with Simon, S54ZZ in Dravograd.  Conditions were not ideal but it was a solid QSO.

The most satisfying contact was to work K1N, Navassa Island DXpedition. I was only running 100 watts and got them on my first call!  They were operating split on 20 meters and it was the first time with the Kenwood TS2000 to operate in that mode. Really satisfying!
